Coach Ryan took over New River Diving in January 2021, bringing with him over eight years of coaching experience. Coach Ryan graduated from Virginia Tech in 2015 with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Minor in Industrial Design. After graduating Ryan pursued a career in Architecture with Gresham Smith & Partners(Fort Lauderdale, FL) while also representing Team USA and continuing to train with Fort Lauderdale Diving Team for 2016 Olympic Trials. After three years in the professional world Ryan realized his true passion was coaching and transitioned to become a full time diving coach for Carolina Diving Academy(Huntersville, NC) in 2018.

Assistant Coaches
Coach Noah joined New River Diving in fall of 2019 when it was run by Ron Piemonte. During this time he worked with all of the kids as one group. Now under the coaching and advising of Ryan Hawkins, Noah works solely with Beginner and Accelerate Lessons and the middle school and high school groups.
Noah will be graduating from Virginia Tech in the spring of 2023 after being a very decorated collegiate athlete of five years. Some of his achievements are being named ACC Diver of the Week multiple times, ACC bronze medalist and NCAA all American in 2020. Coach Noah also holds the Virginia Tech pool and school record for the 1-meter diving event. His favorite thing about coaching is being able to transfer his knowledge to the future generations of this sport, he enjoys seeing the kids grow as athletes and he loves the excitement of the kids.

Coach Daniel is our most recent addition to our coaching staff! Daniel graduated from Davidson College in 2021, where he dove under Greg Ferrucci. He then joined the Virginia Tech Swim and Dive team for his final year of NCAA eligibility under Rio Ramirez. Daniel was an NCAA Division III All-American at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and grew up diving for Twisters Diving in Kansas City, Missouri.
Daniel loves working with all age groups and brings experience from around the country. When he's not at the pool, Daniel studies at Virginia Tech and is excited to continue working with New River Diving while he progresses toward a Ph.D. in Physics.
